Unusual Stringed Instrument Repair – Untangling Strings and Reassembly

This is an unusual instrument that came into the shop. I can't say exactly what it is, but when it arrived the strings were completely tangled, the nut had come loose, and part of the banding edge had separated. After carefully untangling the strings, reattaching the nut, and gluing the banding edge back in place, I was able to put the instrument back together. It also features several handmade ebony bridges that rest on the instrument's tone pillars, making it a particularly interesting piece.
